“Good people bring out the good in people”, and he was one of them

Time doesn’t wait for anyone and it is impossible to decipher what the next moment will bring you. Did anyone prophecy about losing such a gem of a person, a true marvel? No one. Even he would not have known what the time has in store for him.

Today, my heart weeps to hear of the sad demise of the eminent scientist and the former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. We not just lose an intellectual, but an extraordinary human being who was and will always remain a jewel to the nation. It is true that there cannot be another one like Dr. Kalam. He has been an immense source of knowledge and inspiration to all the generations so far and the generations to come.

I remember reading my first book written by him, Wings of Fire, back in college and it had instilled a sense of confidence in me. It had motivated me like none other books.  It was then when I started admiring and following this legend. I am sure, he has touched millions of souls in his own way and today the pride of nation is no more between us, but his inspiration remains forever.

I have not read all the books written by the Nobel laureate, but I wish to read them now. I am sure there are many like me, who would love to read him and if not follow his footsteps, at least draw some inspiration and be the change–to bring the change.

May his soul rest in peace!

In his memory, I dedicate and commemorate few of my favourite quotes and a few books written by Dr. A.P.J. Kalam

Quotes by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

  • We should not give up and we should not allow the problem to defeat us.
  • English is necessary as at present original works of science are in English. I believe that in two decades times original works of science will start coming out in our languages. Then we can move over like the Japanese.
  • Man needs his difficulties because they are necessary to enjoy success.
